Location: IRONMAN France in Nice
Position: Assistant Project Coordinator - Internship (m/f/d)
Internship period: April – September 2026
Working with the operational Volunteers team, you will participate in recruiting the volunteers, as well as planning and carrying out operational tasks related to events organized by the IRONMAN France company in the South West EMEA region. During your internship, you will travel to six events (all except IRONMAN Tours Métropole and IRONMAN Les Sables d'Olonne Vendée).
What You’ll Be Doing
Step into a role where no two days are the same, and your impact is felt far beyond your desk.
Before the event, you will:
- Help define the various human resource needs for the event.
- Assist with the recruitment, management, and retention of approximately 1,000 volunteers per race.
- Strengthen the volunteer database (clubs/associations or individual volunteers).
- Prospect and promote events.
- Assist with assigning positions and drafting job descriptions.
- Assist with organizing and planning volunteer/team leader meetings on site.
- Create editorial and visual content.
- Create and send newsletters.
- Manage website and social media accounts.
During the event, you will:
- Participation in setting up and managing a dedicated volunteer area.
- Assistance with coordinating and briefing teams on site.
- Ensuring an impeccable level of hospitality and information for volunteers.
- Management of accreditations, allowances, and catering for volunteers.
What You Bring to the Team
We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just tick boxes, but thrives in our fast-paced, global environment. Ideally, you have:
- Good knowledge of the non-profit sector.
- Understanding of the overall implementation of a Volunteer Program and its operational requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
- Interpersonal skills
- Unifying, positive spirit.
- Open-mindedness, empathy.
- Ability to work under pressure during major events.
- Ability to carry out operational tasks in the field (setting up and dismantling areas).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Work required in the evenings and on weekends during events.
- Fluency in French and English is mandatory.
- On-site presence is mandatory.
- Previous experience in the events industry (in volunteer program management) would be a plus.
