Internship Equipment Operations

Red Bull New York (“RBNY”) are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) and one of the league’s ten original charter clubs. Founded in 1996, RBNY has competed in MLS since its inception. RBNY’s First Team plays its home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey and its Second Team plays its home matches at Montclair State University. RBNY are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull GmbH, after which the team is named.

RBNY’s First Team is a three-time MLS Supporters’ Shield winner and a two-time Conference Champion, while the Second Team is the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Champion. RBNY also operates one of the nation’s premier youth soccer development programs, spanning local partnerships across New York and New Jersey. RBNY’s Academy is ranked among the top development organizations in the country.

Purpose of this Internship

The purpose of this position is to learn the behind-the-scenes operations of a sports team by working closely within the Equipment department. This position will experience the crucial function the equipment team plays in daily operations around team training and match preparations. 

This is an unpaid, for credit internship only (proof that you will receive credit is required).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Travel preparations and logistics management for a pro sports team

• Day to day operations, supporting the players and coaches with training and match preparation

• Compliance protocols surrounding club branding, league minimum standards, and kit requirements

• Inventory management utilizing current technology partners

• How our equipment team supports special events, community relations initiatives, and partnership ventures

• Must be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree and eligible to receive college credit for this position
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A passion or eagerness to work in the Sports industry
• Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
• Comfortable and proficient with various technology including Microsoft Office
• Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality within a team environment
• Personable and enthusiastic about participating in a team environment.
