Full Description
This role will be responsible for managing the credit control function across multiple international markets, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining positive relationships with customers. Key responsibilities are:
Credit Control Management:
- Oversee the credit control process for international customers, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage the collection of outstanding invoices to reduce the overall debtor days.
Customer Account Management:
- Maintain and update customer credit information and ensure accurate records are kept.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international customers to facilitate timely payments.
Debt Recovery:
- Implement effective strategies for chasing overdue payments, including email, phone calls, and letters.
- Liaise with legal departments or external agencies when necessary to recover outstanding debts.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on the status of outstanding debts, debtor days, and cash flow projections.
- Analyze trends in payment patterns and provide recommendations to senior management for improving credit control processes.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements in the credit control process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated with international credit control regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the finance team, sales department, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve any credit control issues.
- Provide support and training to junior staff members on credit control procedures and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller, preferably in an international or multi-currency environment.
- Strong understanding of credit control principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with international clients.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
