Intern, Sourcing Operations (OA1)

PURPOSE

• Assist in the materials development process by supporting key functions related to material sourcing, selection, and quality assessment.
• Gain hands-on experience in a dynamic global sourcing environment while contributing to the creation of innovative materials that align with marketing and design strategies.
• Support the continuous improvement of internal processes and sustainability initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative and operational support for the materials development team.
• Assist in gathering, organizing, and maintaining material data within internal databases and reporting tools.
• Support material research, including trends, sustainability initiatives, and innovation strategies.
• Help in coordinating communication between internal teams such as Design, Product Development, and Sourcing.
• Work with Tier 2 suppliers under supervision to assist in material sampling and testing coordination.
• Support documentation and tracking of materials testing results in compliance with adidas quality standards.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to materials selection, trends, and sustainability.
• Participate in team meetings and learning opportunities to understand the end-to-end material development process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Strong interest in materials science, sustainability, or product development.
• Basic understanding of material types and production processes is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Textile Technology, or a related field.
• Previous internship or academic project experience in materials, sustainability, or product development is a plus.
