Salary: $20.00 Hourly

Information Technology Internship

Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology and the IT team, the IT intern will support various tasks, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing technical support, and learning about IT systems and processes. The intern may also participate in projects like software testing, system upgrades, and network setup, while also documenting procedures and contributing to knowledge bases. 

Roles and Responsibilities

Technical Support and Troubleshooting: 
Provide technical assistance:
 

  • Answer questions and help users with issues related to hardware, software, and network problems. 

Troubleshoot problems: 

  • Diagnose and resolve computer and network issues, potentially escalating complex problems to senior IT staff. 

Support help desk: 

  • Work with the help desk team to maintain hardware, software, and computer systems. 

Document procedures: 

  • Create and maintain documentation for troubleshooting common problems. 

System and Network Support: 

  • Install and configure software: Assist in installing new software and configuring systems. 
  • Maintain systems: Perform regular maintenance tasks like software updates and backups. 
  • Network support: Help with network setup, upgrades, and troubleshooting. 
  • Monitor systems: Watch for performance issues, security threats, and other problems. 

Project and Development Support: 

  • Software testing: Test new software or applications for bugs and errors. 
  • Scripting and automation: Learn and participate in writing scripts to automate tasks. 
  • Security audits: Contribute to security audits and ensure systems are secure. 

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Document procedures: Create and maintain internal knowledge base documentation. 
  • Assist with training: Help train other staff on new systems or software. 
  • Research technology: Look into new technologies and solutions. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work with other departments to implement and manage IT solutions. 

Requirements:

  • Seniors working toward a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or recent graduates with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Along with a resume, college transcripts will be required.
  • Must work on a hybrid schedule, 3 days per week in the office

Location: New York City

Reporting to: Director of IT

Salary: $20.00 per hour
