The role

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Nutrition (12-month FTC) to lead Huel’s Nutrition team and safeguard the integrity of our products. You’ll drive our nutrition strategy, oversee product formulations, and guide a talented team, ensuring the highest standards of scientific credibility, compliance, and consumer trust. Acting as Huel’s external nutrition voice, this role calls for strategic vision, scientific rigour, and collaborative leadership.

Strategic Leadership

• Drive and oversee Huel’s global nutrition strategy to ensure every product contributes positively to human and planetary health.
• Safeguard the nutrition integrity of the full product portfolio, ensuring our work remains science-led, credible, and innovative.
• Lead Huel’s nutrition narrative in PR and public forums, acting as a trusted voice of the brand.
• Build relationships with industry professionals, academics, and regulatory bodies to bolster trust in Huel and proactively address misinformation.

Product Formulation & Oversight

• Lead on product formulation, working directly on new launches and optimisation of existing products while maintaining responsibility for overall nutritional integrity across the full portfolio.
• Partner with the NPD team to drive innovation and refinement, ensuring products balance consumer appeal with nutritional excellence.
• Manage and apply bespoke vitamin and mineral blends across all formulations, liaising with suppliers on technical queries and ensuring consistency and compliance.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure all products comply with global food, drink, and supplement regulations (EU, USA, and beyond).
• Review and substantiate nutrition and health claims in line with EFSA, FDA, and FTC standards.
• Produce on-pack nutritional's and review labelling and marketing content for accuracy and compliance.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of three nutritionists, fostering professional development and encouraging both technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration.
• Build a culture of trust, collaboration, and shared purpose, creating not just colleagues working together, but a team striving for collective success.

What we're looking for in you

• You’ll be a registered Nutritionist (RNutr) or HCPC Registered Dietitian, with the professional expertise needed to guide Huel’s nutrition strategy.
• Extensive leadership experience in nutrition within the food and drink industry, with a track record of delivering meaningful impact.
• Proven expertise in nutrition and health claims compliance, including EFSA, FDA, and FTC regulations.
• A history of success in product innovation, nutrition strategy, and regulatory governance, ensuring credibility and trust.
• Ability to lead teams with empathy, trust, and accountability, creating an environment where people can thrive.
• Skilled in communication and representation, with experience engaging external audiences through PR, media, and industry events.
• A strategic mindset, with the capacity to balance scientific rigour against commercial priorities and consumer needs.
