Head of Cyber Strategy
Location – Leeds or Dublin
Hybrid

We are seeking a visionary strategist to join our organization as the Head of Cyber Strategy. You will be responsible for shaping, leading and driving the organizations long-term cybersecurity vision and roadmap. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions to proactively identify and address emerging cyber threats, regulatory challenges, and digital transformation opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking cybersecurity professional with deep experience in cybersecurity, risk management, and enterprise technology leadership. You will play a key role in safeguarding our organisation’s assets, reputation and customer trust while enabling and empowering cybersecurity innovation. You will have to ability to positively influence at all level of the organization.

About Division/Function
Flutter consists of two commercial divisions (Fanduel and International) and our central Flutter Functions; COO, Finance & Legal. Here in Flutter Functions we work with colleagues across all our divisions and regions to deliver something we call the Flutter Edge.  It’s our competitive advantage, our ‘secret sauce’ which plays a key part in our ongoing success and powers our brands and divisions, through Product, Tech, Expertise and Scale. In Flutter COO we work with experts across Flutter to build, deploy and communicate the Flutter Edge. Together we cover Product & Payments, Technology, Sportsbook Product & Trading, People, Property, Corporate Communications and Strategic Partnerships & Transformation.


What you’ll do

  • Drive the transformation of our Cyber defence capabilities by leading the creation and curation of the Vision, Mission and Objectives for the Global Cyber team.
  • Create strategies and operating models for Global and shared cyber services to promote innovation and leading-edge cyber defense capabilities.
  • Support the Global Cyber Council of Chief Information Security Officers in helping them realise their collective ambitions to safeguard the company’s assets and interests.
  • Work with senior cyber stakeholders across the Group to deliver and support the Flutter Cyber ‘Edge’ – processes and capabilities to support our brand-led cyber teams and their defensive postures.
  • Create processes and frameworks that will ‘incubate’ best practice in brands and divisions to continuously foster uplift of cyber practices across the Group.
  • Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Finance and other departments to drive an integrated approach to cybersecurity.
  • Work with Group, Divisional Procurement and Group Cyber Architecture teams to derive optimum value from our cybersecurity third party products and services.
  • Create an engagement model for Group CISOs to avail of services and support from Group Cyber.
  • Produce and maintain a ‘current state of cyber’ in terms of capabilities, personnel and roadmaps for each Brand.
  • Advise and guide on new technologies that could be adopted to enhance Flutter’s cyber defences based on known areas of weakness.
  • Input into the design of innovative security solutions and services leveraging automation & AI. Bring thought leadership to support leadership in better understanding the opportunities.

How you’ll do it

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong Leadership, strategic-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to both a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Ability to influence and foster a collaborative approach to deliver in alignment with our Group Cyber Strategy.
  • Ability to management simultaneous tasks and high priorities initiatives to meet stretch targets and strict deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale cybersecurity programs and complex transformation intiiatives.
  • Familiarity with security technologies, such as SIEM, threat intelligence platforms, identity and access management (IAM), data protection, and cloud security.
  • Demonstrable experience of thinking and working in a highly strategic way.

Measure of Success

  • Established and recognized services that support divisional / brand-level cyber priorities.
  • Demonstrable and measurable outcomes of Flutter’s Cyber ‘Edge’.
  • Clear processes for driving continuous improvement for cyber resilience.
