Role Purpose
As a FTSE 100, £5bn turnover Group, Entain will provide a challenging faced paced environment and opportunity for progression and development in a supportive environment.
You will be a key member of the Statutory Reporting team who are responsible for the provision of accurate and timely information, both for internal and external consumption, to the Group Finance Director, CFO and Board of Directors. This role will have responsibilities including monthly group and external statutory reporting for a multinational, FTSE 100 group, including but not limited to the Plc Annual Report, half year statements and monthly management accounts and board slides.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the financial accounting and monthly reporting for the Group’s parent company, including ownership of monthly postings and balance sheet reconciliations
- Responsible for management and understanding of Group investment balances, working proactively with divisions to investigate and reduce differences and accounting for our associates and joint ventures
- Ownership of the monthly capital expenditure report for the monthly board pack, including working with divisions to understand and summarise variances against budget and reconciling back to reporting ledgers
- Ownership of Group balance sheet reconciliations, including fixed assets, provisions and tax. Ensuring data is collated from divisions on a timely basis, movements and variances are understood and strong oversight in place
- Continuous development and improvement of fixed asset reporting and reconciliation process to drive greater analytical capability and robust control
- Supporting the delivery of the Plc Annual Report and Accounts (“ARA”) and half year accounts:
- Preparation of notes and supporting schedules for the back half of the ARA including co-ordinating with divisions to collate data inputs to ensure deadlines met
- Key point of contact for auditors on areas of ownership and preparing audit deliverables on time
- Supporting with the period-end consolidation adjustments
- High attention to detail when reviewing sections of the ARA for consistency and accuracy
- Key point of contact for divisions on accounting question/queries and providing Group oversight and understanding of divisional balance sheets.
- Working with the Group Technical Accountant to analyse and assess the impact of financial reporting developments on relevant areas and ensuring that we are proactive in addressing these issues with the Board and the auditors
- Learning from other members of the team to expand knowledge and be able to cover during absences
- Responsibility for ad hoc analysis requests and projects from the Director of Statutory Reporting and the Group Finance Director
Qualifications
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 6-18 months post qualified experience
Advanced FRS101/102 and IFRS knowledge
Proficient in IFRS
Experience of a group finance function (working in industry or auditing in practice)
Advanced Excel skills
Attention to detail
Organisation and time management skills
Prioritisation and multi-tasking
Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
