Job Title: Freelance Social Media/Digital Marketing 

Location: London, UK

Role: Multiple Opportunities – Flexible days to full-time hours. 

 

NFL UK and Ireland first hosted a regular season NFL game in London in 2007 and has since evolved into an important strategic and creative office for NFL International.  Our vision, to be a leading sport for youth audiences, growing fandom our north star.  With the International Games a firm fixture on the UK sporting calendar, and programs and initiatives including the NFL Academy, the International Player Pathway, the Global Markets Program, the NFL Foundation UK and NFL Flag, the team are at the heart of delivering an ambitious strategy to grow the game at every level.  2026 will see London once again host three International Games, two at Tottenham Hotspur and one at Wembley Stadium, in a year that promises to see continued momentum for the NFL across the country.

We’re looking for talented, enthusiastic, creative thinkers with a passion for social media and digital content creation to join our London-based marketing team.  You will have the ability to bring new ideas and see them through to delivery, the opportunity to manage our highly engaged social community and create new initiatives to bring new audiences into the NFL world, and you’ll be at the forefront of our International Games and driving youth fandom to new heights.

Contract Purpose

  • To support the growth of the NFL UK and Ireland fanbase as part of the team managing multiple social touchpoints (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, X, WhatsApp) through engaging and audience led content, specifically across the International Games and Super Bowl.
  • To create, develop and execute industry leading, social-first content that can live on NFL owned channels, partner channels and club channels where necessary. 
  • To be a valued member of NFL UK and Ireland, playing your part to drive the League forward through boundary-pushing marketing, bringing fresh ideas and creative thinking.

Key Deliverables 

  • Play a key role in the delivery of NFL UK and Ireland’s marketing strategy to target key audiences (specifically 12–24-year-olds) to raise awareness of the League, grow fandom, generate digital engagement, drive online viewership, support commercial initiatives, and deliver strong social campaigns around key tentpoles.
  • Develop industry leading social campaigns and content that is UK and/or Ireland specific and is developed with channel audience in mind to drive social metrics including follower growth, engagement and video views.
  • Bring fresh ideas and social-first concepts to the team, with the ability to deliver projects from ideation to execution.
  • Develop & populate the weekly social planner including channel, time of posting, the content idea and amplification. 
  • Delivery of posting and scheduling of the NFL UK and Ireland social channels (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, X, WhatsApp) including live Game coverage.  
  • Work with the US Social team, as well as club social accounts to help develop content, amplify UK and Ireland content and work on co-branded pieces to drive social metrics within the UK and Ireland.
  • Collaborate with NFL Ticketing to amplify communications for London and other International Games and support consumer products and commercial social campaigns and activations to deliver mutually agreed KPIs.
  • Briefing, management and maximizing performance of creative across social channels.

This contract will require event support around Games and social channel match coverage for NFL fixtures on Sunday, Monday or Thursday nights (weekly schedule to be agreed).

Skills/Experience

  • A good understanding of the NFL.
  • 2 or more years of experience in social media management, preferably within sport. 
  • Strong understanding of digital trends and youth platforms.
  • Content creation and campaign development experience.
  • Ability to work across the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro).
  • A good understanding of social media metrics and reporting on performance.
  • Proven track record of delivering digital marketing campaigns with commercial objectives.
  • Ability to work well in a team and work flexibly across multiple events and activations.
