The Depot Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and readiness of a FIFA fleet/bus depot, ensuring safe, efficient, and professional operations supporting tournament transport services. This role oversees vehicle staging, dispatch and return processes, driver management, site compliance, facilities coordination, and stakeholder communication, acting as the operational leader within the depot environment.
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day depot operations, ensuring safe, on-time fleet deployment
- Oversee dispatch & return processes for all bus and vehicle categories
- Manage depot setup, readiness, and daily operational planning
- Coordinate closely with Transport Command Center and Bus Operations teams
People & Workforce Coordination
- Supervise depot staff, supervisors, dispatchers, and contractors
- Conduct briefings, assign duties, monitor performance, and support welfare
- Ensure compliance with FIFA Code of Conduct and workforce standards
Vehicle & Driver Management
- Oversee vehicle positioning, fueling, cleanliness, and maintenance requests
- Validate driver credentials, technology setup (tablets, apps)
- Manage incident reporting and fleet issue escalation processes
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce site safety, vehicle movement control, RFID/VAPP protocols
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure industry-standard HSE practices
- Support emergency response and incident management procedures
Facilities & Logistics
- Coordinate depot utilities, cleaning, waste services, and security requirements
- Liaise with vendors, landlords, and overlay teams for site upkeep
- Ensure signage, equipment, and site infrastructure meet FIFA standards
Reporting & Communication
- Maintain accurate operational logs, KPI reports, and shift notes
- Provide real-time updates to Bus Operations Center (BOC) and Fleet Operations Center (FCC)
- Participate in daily operational briefings and debriefs
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Transport Operations, Logistics, or Hospitality, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of transport operations, guest services, or event logistics is an asset.
Work Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in transport, hospitality, or event operations.
- Experience working in a supervisory role within large-scale or high-profile events preferred.
- Proven ability to manage small teams, coordinate logistics, and deliver service excellence under pressure.
- Experience collaborating with security teams, hotels, and transport providers is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills, proactive communication, and confidence in decision-making.
- Demonstrates the highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and commitment.
- Positive attitude, patience, and persistence in problem-solving.
- Strong cultural awareness and the ability to work in an international environment.
- Client facing communication and guest services experience is a plus.
Language
- Fluent in English (required)
- Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
- Additional language skills beneficial due to international broadcast teams.
Technology
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
