Financial Manager
Location – London/Leeds/Dublin
Hybrid  - 2 days per week (Dublin only)

Reporting to the Associate Director - Global Intercompany & Statutory Reporting you will manage a team responsible for intercompany and local GAAP accounting, annual local financial statements compilation and filing annual statutory audit, and supporting merger & acquisition integration and deregistration. You will work closely with Group Reporting, Tax, CoSec, FP&A, Divisional Finance teams as well as Legal and external auditors. You must demonstrate leadership skills, good business judgment and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and have strong project management skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Review and oversight of intercompany reporting
  • Work with tax to ensure completeness of transfer pricing and cross charges across each of the Group entities
  • Liaise with subsidiary finance teams regarding month-end reporting and various other tasks
  • Ensure SOX compliance
  • Design efficient processes and procedures for all aspects of intercompany (applying Alteryx and AGIS)
  • Work with VAT to ensure we meet our compliance criteria
  • Collaborate closely with Group Reporting to meet month-end financial close requirements and ensure intercompany balances and transactions eliminate across the Group
  • Drive continuous process improvement and automation
  • Provide financial support and advice to the division’s operational business units and FP&A regarding intercompany recharges, where applicable
  • Lead the intercompany loans process to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Coordinate statutory financial reporting for Group legal entities, working with local finance, Tax, Legal, CoSec.
  • Establish an annual statutory audit plan with external auditors including timelines, schedules, and resources, and project manage the end-to-end process
  • Ensure any legal entity reporting adjustments are accurately tracked, supported, and reflected in the accounting recording system (Oracle), as applicable
  • Ensure consistency across the statutory accounts
  • Apply automation and process improvements where possible
  • Collaborate with divisional finance partners globally to achieve consistency and efficiency
  • Support Tax on tax accounting and external tax audits or investigations
  • Work closely with Tax and CoSec to liquidate and deregister dormant companies
  • Continuously improve the monthly close process and related outputs, working with different finance teams
  • Develop and maintain the Group General Ledger and the Group Chart of Accounts to ensure they continually evolve to meet the needs of the team
  • Research and conclude on technical accounting issues relating to intercompany which impact the Group
  • Identify and implement key projects and processes for automation and improvement
  • People management

How You’ll Do It

  • Qualified Accountant with 5+ years of progressive experience, preferably gained in a multi-national / plc environment or a Big-4 accounting firm
  • Experience in Statutory Reporting essential
  • US GAAP and IFRS experience
  • Able to work effectively with senior collaborators
  • Proven experience in crafting and maintaining a strong internal control environment (SOX or equivalent) and in developing/implementing reporting & operating process improvements
  • Strong financial accounting experience with a solid understanding of current/relevant technical accounting issues
  • Strong Financial Systems experience – Oracle and Hyperion would be an advantage
  • Excellent MS Office skills, in a fast-paced environment
  • A highly motivated, organized, professional, great teammate
  • Strong process, technical, and analytical skills, combined with commercial competence and good interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills: the ability to accurately and briefly identify key issues and communicate them broadly
  • High energy and drive, and flexible enough to work in an entrepreneurial, dynamic, and changing environment and the resilience to challenge/be challenged
  • Assertive and confident, collaborating effectively with senior collaborators
  • Excellent communicator; deals effectively with financial and non-financial people, passionate about building and maintaining excellent working relationships across the business
  • An ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure of tight reporting deadlines
  • An interest in process improvement and automation
