About the Team
Fanatics is a prominent and innovative organization in the sports and trading cards industry, dedicated to creating exceptional event experiences for collectors, fans, and enthusiasts. Our newest platform, Fanatics Events, provides a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with athletes, discover exclusive collectibles, and immerse themselves in the vibrant sports and trading cards community. As we look to expand our event portfolio building off the success of our inaugural Fanatics Fest, we are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team in NYC.
Achieving our goals requires strong collaboration and partnership between our teams and our internal stakeholders. To best support this, the person who accepts this role is expected to be on site, in office two to four days per week, with occasional travel.
Job Overview:
The Finance Manager for Fanatics Events will be pivotal in shaping our financial strategy and overseeing the financial operations of our events. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong finance background, particularly those with experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or startup finance, who excel in fast-paced environments and are skilled in financial management and strategic planning. We're looking for someone eager to take on a significant role in driving business growth and shaping the future of sports fan events. This position offers high visibility with senior management across the organization.
What You'll Do:
- Own and manage the P&L for Fanatics Events, including creating detailed financial builds with functional leads in operations, marketing, and talent management to ensure all financial aspects are up to date and accurately reflected.
- Maintain and update Fanatics Events' financial documents, including the P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, and supporting schedules/analyses, ensuring their accuracy, timeliness, and quality.
- Collaborate with internal accounting & FP&A teams to manage financial statements for Fanatics Events, ensuring seamless financial integration & reporting for each event.
- Forecast financial outcomes across the Fanatics Events portfolio, developing and maintaining KPI dashboards for reporting up to senior management. Support the creation of the annual and multi-year strategic and financial plans.
- Build and maintain financial models to assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives and perform ad-hoc analyses on all aspects of the Fanatics Events business. Develop business cases that clearly communicate the ROI of initiatives.
- Drive the automation of Fanatics Events' financial reporting.
- Provide strategic support and drive special projects related to Fanatics Fest & other events, managing competing priorities & providing level-headed guidance
- Build strong working relationships with the Fanatics Events team and the broader Fanatics Holdings Inc. (FHI) finance and accounting teams to foster transparency and collaboration in financial matters.
What We're Looking For:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in finance, with a background in investment banking, corporate finance, management consulting or a related field. Startup finance experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong financial modeling skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Expertise using Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data and drive business insights
- Blend of financial, strategy, business analysis, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Results-driven, organized, and efficient team player skilled at managing multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Clear and effective communicator with experience engaging both executive and tactical audiences.
- Natural curiosity and drive, with a proactive approach toward what may make sense even if not specifically requested
Preferred:
- Experience in events finance or trade shows is preferred.
- Passion for sports and understanding of the sports business landscape
The salary range for this position is $133,750 to $155,000 which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
