Fanatics Collectibles is expanding into the China market and is looking for a Manager of Events Marketing to help build our regional brand and community engagement from the ground up. This role will play a central part in planning, executing, and scaling major brand activations, collector events, and card shows in China.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, China (with dotted-line collaboration to the Global Experiences team), this position will be instrumental in shaping the local collector ecosystem through culturally resonant and brand-building experiences. It’s an opportunity for a passionate event marketer to establish Fanatics Collectibles as a premier name in sports and entertainment fandom within China. This is a full time role, in the designated office 5 days per week. 

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Event Management:

  • Lead the planning and execution of key regional events including brand activations, card shows, partner summits, retail experiences, and collector community engagements.
  • Manage events from concept through execution — including creative development, logistics, partner alignment, and on-site delivery.

Strategic Activation Planning:

  • Develop localized strategies that ladder up to global brand goals while speaking to Chinese consumer preferences and fan culture.
  • Support first-to-market activations, integrating content, digital, and commerce where appropriate to enhance reach and ROI.

Cross-functional & Partner Collaboration:

  • Work closely with global teams, regional marketing, partnerships, and merchandising to integrate events into broader go-to-market plans.
  • Liaise with key external stakeholders including local sports leagues, entertainment IPs, influencers, venues, production vendors, and media partners.

Show Presence & Collector Community Building:

  • Spearhead Fanatics Collectibles’ presence at regional card shows and collector expos (e.g., in Beijing, Guangzhou, or Shanghai), acting as lead point of contact for pre-, during-, and post-event operations.
  • Champion the creation of authentic and immersive experiences for both new and seasoned collectors.

Budget & Vendor Oversight:

  • Own budgeting, vendor sourcing, and contract negotiations for all regional events.
  • Ensure deliverables are high-quality, brand-aligned, and executed on time and within scope.

Post-Event Analysis:

  • Produce comprehensive post-event recaps with insights on KPIs, brand impact, customer engagement, and recommendations for improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in experiential marketing or event management, preferably within a consumer, sports, entertainment, or lifestyle brand in China.
  • Proven experience executing large-scale events and activations from scratch in China.
  • Deep understanding of the Chinese event landscape, including key platforms, logistics, consumer expectations, and regional nuances.
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and vendor/partner negotiation capabilities.
  • Passion for fandom culture — especially in sports, collectibles, or entertainment verticals — is highly desirable.
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English; able to work across global and local teams.
