Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

Event Services is the Functional Area, within the Organizing Committee for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, that is responsible for planning, designing and providing a safe and welcoming environment for all ticketed spectators at the official Competition, Non-Competition and Ceremonies venues. In addition, EVS provides other services to accredited stakeholders.


The Event Services Non-Competition Venue Planner will be the Team Member mostly focused on the Event Services operations at the opening and closing ceremonies venues for both Olympics and Paralympics.


The person in this position would be focused on working within the Event Services Ceremonies Team to plan EVS operations, participate in Ceremonies venue operations planning, plan EVS resources, including workforce, and be part of the delivery of the plan during the operations, readiness and testing phases.


This role works in close collaboration with the EVS Operations Department, both with the Competition and the Non-Competition Clusters, because of the many interdependencies and, mostly, to ensure consistent operational parameters and to guarantee the same level of service to all Stakeholders.


This role also works as a part of the Ceremonies Venue Team together with the representatives of other FAs.


Responsabilities:


The Event Services Non-Competition Venue Planner will predominantly work with the Event Services Ceremonies and Non-Competition Lead Venue Planner to manage the spectator experience at ceremonies venues and will also support, based on specific needs, the operational planning of other venues.


He/She will:


  • Support the Event Services Non-Competition Venue Team in working with other Departments, within the Organizing Committee, to design the operational plans for different Non-Competition venues spread across different territories, such as Olympic and Paralympic Villages, Main Media Center, Olympic Family Hotel, etc. In addition to that, these plans will have to be fully integrated and aligned with what is required by local regulations and/or external entities or partners such as local authorities, local event delivery entities, etc.
  • Participate in the work with the Venue Management Team or other respective management teams, guarantee the EVS presence and support and any other form of collaboration needed or that should arise based on the nature of the EVS planning.
  • Build solid and collaborative relationships with other Functional Areas (FAs) to plan and deliver the EVS Non-Competiton venue operations.
  • Provide regular updates and, where needed, escalate operational risks and issues to the Event Services Ceremonies and Non-Competition Lead Venue Planner.
  • Plan for the right type and quantities of resources needed to implement the EVS Non-Competition venue operations.
  • Support the work with Master Schedule tasks related to the EVS Non-Competition venue operations plan and monitor the status of accomplishment. Track risks and issues and report to Central Management as required.
  • Participate in regular Event Services update meetings both within the EVS Non-Competition Venue Team and within the larger EVS Group.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Event Services Workforce team to establish the most suitable and efficient staffing allocation plan based on the available resources.
  • Support both the EVS Operations and EVS Staffing/Training Teams as needed
  • Represent EVS effectively and respectably at meetings as required.
  • Support Event Services Ceremonies and Non-Competition Lead Venue Planner as needed

Other assignments as required during both the planning and the operational phases.


Requirements

  • University Degree
  • Experience of Olympic Games planning and operations desirable.
  • Operations Management experience in large-scale events, productions, or venues
  • Proven ability to effectively and efficiently work with a high number of stakeholders and reconcile different needs.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a very fast paced environment with numerous and tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of the wide range of implications that planning assumptions can have on the whole project.
  • Ability to keep a clear line of communication within the Event Services Team and with all other Functional Areas and Stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify priorities and work towards their accomplishment.
  • Ability to build project teams consisting of various workforce including volunteers.
  • Ability to present and report in groups or official occasions
