Full Description
FIFA27 established as the Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil, to work together with FIFA HQ in Zurich and globally, to deliver the biggest women’s sporting event in the world, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ (“FWWC2027”).
Reporting organisationally to the Head of Marketing, Brand and Promotion (FIFA27, Rio de Janeiro) and the Team Lead, Event Marketing (FIFA HQ, Zurich), the Event Marketing Manager will be a key member of the FIFA27 Marketing, Brand and Promotion team, and will work in close collaboration with the Event Marketing in Zurich and other key individuals responsible for all marketing campaigns for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the creation and implementation of strategic, high impact, end-to-end marketing campaigns to meet and exceed the objectives of the Tournament
- In line with the wider FIFA27 and FIFA Zurich teams, define and manage comprehensive GTM multi-channel marketing plans (in close liaison with the digital marketing, ticketing, comms, BI, and brand teams) to support strategic goals to drive awareness, attendance, engagement and retainment
- Liaise directly with internal and external tournament stakeholders as required including Host Cities and Stadiums, Commercial Partners, and Official Media Partners and Licensees to amplify campaigns.
- Support the development of cross cultural and sector tactical and long-term
strategical promotional partnerships with partners and third parties for mutual benefit - Create and circulate relevant briefing, publishing plans, planning, valuation, tracking and final reporting documents related to marketing stakeholder’s needs as required
- Implement influencer strategies in support of marketing objectives. Including mapping of influencers/ambassadors/legends/celebrities and identified events and potentially on-site management/support
- Ad-hoc support of additional workstreams in relation to event marketing needs which may include contact/planning/liaising with football clubs or participating member associations (PMA’s)
- Co-Develop launches of major brand assets, such as tournament logos, mascots, posters, and songs, as well as oversee multi-stage global and localised awareness and tournament related sales campaigns
- Become an expert in FIFA event marketing milestone planning and challenge the status quo and norm with new and creative marketing milestone concepts to ensure amplification and data capture
- Provide stakeholders with timely and accurate information on promotional and marketing events, activations and opportunities and ensure stakeholders to drive optimisation of the opportunities.
Education
- Related bachelor’s degree or a similar level of higher education.
Skills & Competencies
- Adaptable, effective and efficient under pressure, immovable deadlines, and in stressful situations
- Effective at working proactively and independently whilst providing regular updates, being able to communicate clearly and effectively via different channels with key stakeholders
- Ability to convey ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed
- Knowledge of Brazilian and South American markets and culture and trends
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail in all tasks and deliverables
Work Experience
- 5-7 years’ proven experience delivering major brand and marketing plans, and favourable to hold experience with sport's governing bodies, LOCs and, or sports and entertainment rightsholders
- Deep familiarity and understanding of the dynamics of football
- Well-connected with existing connections with Key Stakeholders, Partners (Qualified Clubs, Leagues, Associations)
- Experience in Brand Marketing and Marketing Operations, Communications, Events
- A passion for football
Technology
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), planning software and online collaboration tools (Monday.com)
Requirements
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Right to work in Brazil.
- Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
