England Pathway Bank Doctors (Women's Pathway)
Team doctors provide cover for the pathway teams for 40-80 days per year dependent on the age group and tournament qualification.
Bank doctors are important to provide flexible cover to support these teams. Please be aware that this is a casual contract that will run until 31st July 2026.
- The interview dates will be 11th and/or 12th August 2025 at The National Football Centre, St George's Park, Burton-upon-Trent.
- The application deadline is midnight on 13th July 2025.

You will support the delivery of a performance medicine service to England Women's Development Teams through cover to age group teams as flexible bank staff when needed.
The typical length of a camp is between 3-12 days with international tournaments lasting longer depending on the format.
The successful candidates will become a critical member of the multidisciplinary support team working closely with the coaches, physical performance coach and physiotherapist (plus other disciplines) on-camp, with support in maintaining continuity from senior medical support staff between camps.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Provide high quality medical support working with the MDT and coaching team for their respective national squad to ensure optimal management of players health and fitness.
- Team doctors, with support from the FA Medical Team, attend pre- and post-camp meetings to facilitate comprehensive planning and preparation of the team for performance following FA protocols including management of injuries and illness, concussion management, medication management, antidoping, cardiac screening, COVID protocols, emergency planning, travel health, wellbeing & women's health issues.
- Liaise with club medical staff re fitness to train and play before camp and after camp or if any notable change while on camp.
- To be responsible for any medical issues arising with any members of the party travelling with that squad.
- Maintain and update medical records as required and in line with GMC (General Medical Council) recommendations on note keeping in ‘Good Medical Practice'. Ensure medical notes are entered on to the Medical Records system and kept up to date by all staff.
- Attend all training sessions and matches, along with regular medical and sports science meetings throughout any camp.
- Attend CPD/training days.
- Any other task as is required by The FA to fulfil the Appointment effectively, adhering to the current Standard Operating Procedures of the department.
- Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
- As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.
What Will You Need?
- GMC registered
- License to practise in the UK
- Possess a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine
- Experience as a Team Doctor in Sport
- Emergency Pitch side Care Qualification
- Flexibility to support the role
- Excellent academic and applied knowledge of contemporary practice in Sport and Exercise Medicine
- Excellent planning and communication skills with experience participating in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Record of accomplishment of successfully integrating into established and developing coaching teams
- Experience in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Primary Care
- Be available to travel within UK and abroad
