Emerging Nations Bicycle Technician (100%)

Mission:

As a Bicycle Technician at the UCI World Cycling Centre, you’ll play a key role in keeping our athletes’ equipment in

top condition. From ensuring the smooth operation of all mechanical gear to travelling with UCI WCC teams during

training camps and competitions, you’ll be right where the action is. You will also collaborate closely with the Manager Mechanics, fellow mechanics, and the Tutor Mechanics to keep

the UCI WCC workshop running at its best. Your hands-on support and team spirit will help maintain a highperformance environment for both staff and athletes. Additionally, the UCI WCC is looking for a specialist in Africa who can contribute to the development of cycling across

the continent. This role involves assisting national federations in designing and implementing Bicycle Mechanic

development strategies, supporting the growth of technical expertise, and ensuring sustainable progress in cycling

infrastructure and education. Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper maintenance and assembly of athletes’ equipment at the UCI World Cycling Centre • Support and assist athletes during training camps and competitions
  • Build and deliver bespoke bicycle mechanic educational content for African National Cycling Federations and on behalf of the CAC (Confederation Africaine de Cyclisme)
  • Provide educational mechanic courses during training camps run in Africa, which are part of the RADR programme
  • Help prepare vehicles and equipment required for off-site training and competition trips
  • In coordination with the Manager Mechanics, ensure the workshop is well stocked with essential consumables and kept clean and organized
  • Assist in delivering mechanical training to UCI WCC athletes, in agreement with the Manager Mechanics • Carry out general upkeep of the parking area. Profile:
