WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR :

We are seeking a highly accomplished Distinguished Engineer to lead and inspire our engineering teams responsible for developing and maintaining our products and platforms and delivering great integrated experiences for our users. As a key member of our technology leadership team, you will oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of critical productsacross Innovation, design creation, merchandizing, AI/ML and GenAI platforms. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our product ecosystem.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON :

  • Technical Leadership: Provide strategic direction and technical guidance to engineering teams across multiple domains, and geographies.

  • Product and Platform Architecture: Design and evolve the overall architecture for our suite of products and platforms, ensuring they align with business objectives and meet the evolving needs of our organization.

  • Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, driving the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices.

  • Team Development: Mentor engineering talent, building high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Collaboration: Partner with product management, data science, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical challenges related to design, security, governance, performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

  • Hands-on coding: Actively participating in design, development and debugging activities, demonstrating deep understanding of engineering principles and practices.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH :

This role reports to the VP of Consumer Product and Innovation and will work closely with Product creation, Merch, Design, Innovation teams, the Distinguished Engineering Community, and key partners across Footwear, Apparel, Ops, Merch and Geos.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

  • 10+ years software engineering experience as an individual contributor.

  • Proven track record as a Distinguished Engineer or equivalent role in a technology-driven organization.

  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, asynchronous architectures and distributed algorithms

  • Deep understanding of system performance tradeoffs, work scheduling, and engineering for high availability

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and their application to data-driven solutions.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.

  • Proven ability to drive innovation and solve complex technical challenges.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Active involvement in the open-source community and a history of contributing to relevant projects and/or experience in publishing technical articles.
