Responsibilities:

  • Architect and Implement: Design and build a robust and scalable personalization platform, integrating an external CDP with Fanatics' rich internal data sources.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with e-marketing, CRM, and site-experience teams to identify opportunities for personalization and drive impactful initiatives.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to a growing engineering team in India, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Data Security and Privacy: Ensure the platform adheres to the highest security standards, safeguarding customer data and protecting against account takeover and other threats.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve system performance, ensuring a seamless and responsive experience for our customers.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a long-term roadmap for identity and personalization, aligning with Fanatics' overall business goals.
  • Team Building: Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent, cultivating a high-performing and motivated team.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with and manage expectations of various stakeholders, including senior leadership, product teams, and business partners.

Experience:

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with a focus on personalization, identity management, or data-driven applications.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams, preferably in a global setting.
  • Experience leading and driving successful outcomes in an agile development environment.
  • Deep understanding of personalization algorithms, machine learning techniques, and data modeling.
  • Extensive knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-based technologies (AWS or GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with CDPs (Customer Data Platforms) and data integration tools.
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles, authentication protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect), and security best practices.
  • Experience in e-commerce or a related industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience with omni-channel customer engagement orchestration,
  • coordinating personalized interactions across email, SMS, social media, and
  • other channels.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Additional Skills Valued in the Industry:

  • Real-time Personalization: Experience implementing real-time personalization engines to deliver dynamic content and recommendations.
  • Omnichannel Personalization: Ability to create personalized experiences across multiple channels, including web, mobile, email, and in-store.
  • AI and ML Expertise: Advanced knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for personalization.
  • Data Privacy and Compliance: Understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy regulations.
  • Product Management: Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and prioritize features effectively.
