Full Description

The Head of Product Security will lead efforts to safeguard both Fanatics' products through their lifecycle from design and development to post-production. This will be accomplished by not only collaborating with product, manufacturing, and go-to-market teams but also by working with other security teams in a matrixed environment that maintains a holistic security strategy for the company. This role is critical in ensuring the protection of designs, prototypes, samples, materials, and finished goods from theft, premature release, and unauthorized access. This role is also central to protecting 3rd party assets and planned go-to-market strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Definition: Refreshing and unifying product security policies scattered across the business.
  • Policy Operationalization: Help various business partners and teams operationalize product security requirements, ensuring they are integrated into standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Training and Awareness: Implement product security training programs for onboarding and key employees. Assist in the establishment of product security awareness campaigns across the company.
  • Control Tower Operations: establish and scale control tower functionality leveraging existing and new tools to monitor and respond to key inventory and security events. Use key metrics to assess risk landscape and compliance with security requirements on a frequent basis.
  • Incident Intake and Coordination: Operate security incident intake system and coordinate initial response.
  • Internal Assessments: Assess and monitor compliance with security requirements with internal teams. Supervise investigatory support for security incidents as appropriate.
  • 3rd party Assessments: Assist in driving product security protocols into the operating rhythms of key 3rd party partners across the manufacturing and go-to-market lifecycles. Establish and scale a program to monitor and assess 3rd party performance with requirements, driving corrective action as needed.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Business, Law, or a related field, or the equivalent in combined education and experience.
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in security management, with a focus on product security, intellectual property protection, or a related field within the fashion or retail industry. Specific experiences in security management of 1st and 3rd party IP in outsource manufacturing environments, and/or protection of the confidentiality of assets in multi-channel go-to-market activations a plus.
  • Experience with writing and operationalizing security policies, as well as implementing associated training.
  • Experience in physical security management, including oversight of security systems, incident response and control tower operations.
  • Experience with conducting 3rd party and internal compliance assessments.
  • Knowledge of global supply chains and security practices in manufacturing and logistics, including leveraging RFID information for the tracking and disposition of high-risk inventory.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate security concepts into practical guidance for non-technical teams.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and address security risks in a fast-paced and evolving industry.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure all security measures, both physical and digital, are executed consistent to their design to minimize security events.
