WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Director of Merchandising – Energy partners with cross-functional teams including Global Sport Merchants, Geo Energy Merchants, Global Nike Direct, Global Energy Product, Global Energy Marketing, Global Energy Planning, Global Energy Operations, Global Energy marketplace and Global Energy Finance. This leader manages a diverse team of merchandising professionals and reports to the Global Energy Merchandising Senior Director.

This function sets the strategic direction for Nike’s Energy Footwear portfolio, driving innovation and growth across the global marketplace. The team is recognized for its collaborative culture, diverse talents, and industry-leading output in consumer-led merchandising.

The Director of Merchandising – Energy Footwear excels at blending art and science to deliver innovative product assortments, drives long-term growth, and inspires excellence through partnership and collaboration. This individual is highly analytical, creative, and adept at leading through change in a fast-paced, global environment.

Requirements:

  • Open to work in Beaverton, Oregon

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in merchandising, product creation, and/or retail, with leadership experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training

  • Experience in footwear and/or apparel merchandising; proficiency in retail and profit-based metrics

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will set the strategic direction for Nike’s Energy footwear portfolio, leading the creation and execution of product assortment strategies that drive business objectives and marketplace differentiation. You’ll collaborate with global and geo teams, manage line planning, and inspire your team to deliver consumer-led innovation.

Core responsibilities:

  • You will lead the development and execution of Energy Footwear Merchandising strategy, including sales, growth, margin, and productivity targets. 

  • You will build and implement channel-level assortment frameworks, informed by must-win partners and Nike Direct.

  • You will partner with cross-functional teams to align on product strategies, seasonal planning, and consumer insights.

  • You’ll drive product lifecycle discussions, franchise health monitoring, and product line architecture development.

  • You will provide feedback on brand concepts, ensuring alignment to line plans and commercial viability.

  • You’ll inspire and develop talent within the Merchandising function, fostering a culture of excellence and inclusion.

  • You will manage direct feedback loops with Geo Merchandising teammates, ensuring global input is incorporated at key moments.
