The candidate will be part of a team who is passionate about enabling data and insights in service of the Finance function to drive sustainable and profitable growth for Nike.  Regular partnerships include a wide range of Finance leaders and teams, as well as cross-functional organizations, responsible for driving clarity, alignment, and security of Finance data in the delivery of Data Governance priorities.

This leader must be adaptable, a critical thinker, and an expert in financial data, with deep experience in data governance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data, Analytics, Finance, Business Administration, or a business-related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

  • 9+ years of experience leading data governance initiatives, including, development and implementation standards, policies, and establishing stewardship operating model.

  • Proven ability to develop and lead high-performing teams, driving positive impact across the organization.

Skills

  • Expert-level experience with data governance requirements and methods, with proven ability to work with business and analytics leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data quality requirements and challenges

  • Experience leading or working with Data Governance and/or data solutions professionals and/or teams

  • Involvement with data and information/content strategies involving collaborative solutions, predictive analytics and BI reporting, machine learning, knowledge systems, big data and the use of diverse sources of data/content

  • Strong track record of leading change in a complex, matrix organization

  • Expert interpersonal, written and verbal skills with proven ability to educate, inform, persuade, and achieve understanding and buy-in on data quality/data governance needs across different functions, levels and customers

  • Experience working in a global business environment

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will lead the data governance strategy and execution for the Finance function, building sustainable processes and strong partnerships that result in trusted data and insights.  Specifically,

  • You will lead the development and implementation of Finance data governance strategies, ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of financial data to support the Nike business, ensuring we are meeting business needs while balancing quality, risk and cost

  • You will develop and lead a team of data governance professionals responsible for establishing Finance practices, policies and frameworks that enhance data quality, security and accessibility

  • You will ensure financial governance policies meet regulatory and compliance standards

  • You will deploy industry best practices to assist in building excellence in our data governance and data quality initiatives

  • You will own relationships with diverse business stakeholders to understand current and anticipate future business needs, drive alignment and communication on shared initiatives impacting financial data 

  • You will elevate the understanding and demonstrate the value of data governance across business leaders and stakeholders
