Full Description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

This role is responsible for developing outdoor apparel designs, supporting the brand's creative vision, and participating in the entire product design process to ensure alignment with brand identity and market needs. The Designer should have strong industry insight and creativity, effectively incorporating trends, materials, and colours into product collections while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to bring designs to life.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to seasonal creative narratives, product ranges, and design stories, ensuring consistency in colour, materials, silhouettes, and graphics.
  • Oversee the complete creative process, identifying industry trends in colour, materials, and graphics, and influence merchandising and assortment strategies
  • Research industry trends in colour, materials, and patterns, applying insights to product designs.
  • Develop innovative design solutions that align market needs with creative concepts.
  • Create sketches, renderings, technical drawings, and design documentation according to brand standards and requirements.
  • Collaborate with product managers, marketing teams, and development teams to ensure designs align with business goals and user needs.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, contribute creative ideas, and remain open to feedback for design improvements. Agility to manage unexpected projects, feedback, and people factors from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines
  • Ensure all designs align with the brand's visual identity and quality standards, optimizing the design process for better execution efficiency.
  • Stay informed on sustainability trends and incorporate eco-friendly and functional elements into designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in apparel design, with a preference for outdoor or technical wear design experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of management and leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to drive teams toward achieving strategic goals.
  • Strong knowledge of outdoor/technical apparel materials and construction (e.g., Goretex, Pertex, Polartec, seam-sealing technology, etc.).
  • Excellent trend awareness, with the ability to integrate fashion and functionality into designs.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey design concepts.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to clearly and effectively communicate the creative vision, concepts, ideas, and solutions to stakeholders, internal teams, and clients.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, with strong cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
