Full Description
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation
As the Transport & Distribution Operations Manager, you’ll lead outbound logistics operations and manage relationships with key transportation partners. Your role includes maintaining and negotiating transport contracts, working closely with Global Logistics, Procurement, Finance, and NTP. You’ll also drive collaboration with our Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers to ensure delivery performance against key contractual KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the performance of transport providers across all business channels, with a focus on DIFOT (Delivery in Full, On Time) metrics.

Manage service delivery through key carrier partners, including:

TGE – B2B
-
Toll Fast (Victoria Retail)
-
Australia Post (eCommerce)
-
Xpress Freight (JD Sports)
-
Xtreme Freight (Ad Hoc – Victoria)

Develop and manage transportation budgets to support cost efficiency and profitability.

Ensure accurate and timely deliveries to customers.
-
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance carrier performance and service offerings.

Participate in operational planning meetings to align logistics with business demand.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, legal regulations, and company policies.

Work with regional subject matter experts (SMEs) to share best practices and support professional development.

Act as a key link between internal teams (sales, supply chain) and 3PL distribution centres through daily/weekly coordination.

Oversee outbound planning and prioritisation to support commercial goals.

Manage the RFC (Request for Change) process to meet delivery targets, particularly at month-end.

Lead and report on QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) and MBRs (Monthly Business Reviews) with transport providers.

Drive seasonal peak planning with business stakeholders and logistics partners.

Serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for 3PL and transport carriers.

Design logistics solutions for new store openings and inbound carrier planning.
