WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role is part of the Nike’s Content Technology team within Consumer Product and Innovation (CP&I) organization, working very closely with the globally distributed Engineering and Product teams. This role will roll up to the Director Software Engineering based out of Nike India Tech Centre.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for experienced Technology focused and hands on Engineering Manager to join our team in Bengaluru, India.
The engineering manager supports a squad of world class engineers, manages delivery priorities, and ensures high quality and well architected solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
A seasoned data engineering leader with 12+ years of experience in data engineering and at least 3 years in people or technical leadership roles.
Proven expertise in Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Delta Lake, Airflow, and cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
Strong background in integrating ML/GenAI into data platforms.
Deep understanding of data modelling, performance tuning, platform scalability, Data Lakes, Medallion architecture, and Delta Lakes.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices in a data engineering context.
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to design solutions for complex data challenges.
Effective communicator, able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and work cross-functionally.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred: Experience with Kafka/Kinesis or real-time data streaming, Databricks certifications, and familiarity with Tableau or other analytical tools.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Lead and grow a high-performing team of data engineers and analyst
Define and drive the team’s technical roadmap in alignment with business goals.
Oversee the development of scalable data platforms, architecture, and best practices.
Drive the implementation of governance, CI/CD, and operational excellence.
Coach engineers, manage performance, and foster a collaborative culture.
Partner with cross-functional leaders to align priorities and execution.
Ensure technical delivery and solution quality across initiatives.
