OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Programme Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating a portfolio of real estate projects to ensure they collectively support the organisation’s strategic objectives. The role manages multiple concurrent initiatives such as office developments, workplace transformations, portfolio consolidations, fit-outs, and asset repositioning.
The Programme Manager provides governance, strategic oversight, and leadership to project teams, ensuring delivery across schedule, budget, quality, and risk management while aligning projects with broader corporate real estate strategy.
KEY RESPOBSIBILITIES
Programme Strategy & Planning
- Lead the planning and delivery of CRE programmes consisting of multiple real estate projects .
- Translate corporate real estate strategy into actionable programme roadmaps.
- Define programme governance frameworks, delivery methodologies, and reporting structures.
- Ensure alignment between real estate initiatives and wider business objectives.
Portfolio & Project Oversight
- Oversee multiple project managers responsible for individual real estate developments or fit-outs.
- Monitor programme performance including budget, schedule, scope, and risk .
- Identify dependencies between projects and manage cross-project coordination.
- Ensure consistent project management standards and best practices.
Financial & Budget Management
- Manage programme-level capital expenditure (CapEx) and operational budgets.
- Track programme financial performance and forecast expenditure across multiple projects.
- Support investment cases and approval processes for major real estate initiatives.
Stakeholder & Executive Management
- Act as the primary interface between senior leadership, CRE teams, and external partners .
- Present programme updates, performance metrics, and risk reports to executive stakeholders.
- Coordinate with business units to ensure projects meet operational and workplace requirements.
Governance & Risk Management
- Establish programme governance including reporting, risk management, and change control.
- Manage programme risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, planning regulations, and internal policies.
Vendor & Consultant Management
- Oversee relationships with architects, developers, contractors, and consultants .
- Ensure vendors deliver according to contractual obligations and programme objectives.
TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field .
- 5-8 years of experience in commercial real estate, construction, or infrastructure programme/project management.
- Proven experience managing large-scale real estate programmes or portfolios of projects .
