Corporate Counsel – IP

Stats Perform is seeking an experienced and strategically minded Corporate Counsel – IP to lead and support our global intellectual property initiatives. In this key role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, research, and cross-functional teams to identify, develop, and protect the company’s most valuable innovations across multiple markets.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and implement intellectual property strategies for our products and technologies.
• Collaborate with outside counsel and R&D leaders on patent prosecution, conducting inventor interviews and due diligence reviews.
• Collaborate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders on trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement.
• Provide expert legal advice and counsel to cross-functional teams on IP-related matters.
• Participate in the identification and tracking of key contract intellectual property terms, obligations, and potential risks.
• Assist business in analyzing and determining risks related to use of Artificial Intelligence in technology and products.
• Assist in reviewing, analyzing, and organizing contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements. 
• Give accurate and timely counsel to key stakeholders and executives across the business on variety of legal topics.
• Assist in drafting legal documents, including non-disclosure agreements, memoranda, and other contracts. Review and provide feedback on standard legal forms and templates.

What you’ll need: 

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school, state bar admission enabling in-house practice (specific state not required).
• Registration to practice before the USPTO.
• 3+ years of experience practicing patent law as an attorney or patent agent at a law firm or in-house, including U.S. and foreign patent prosecution.
• Some experience with trademark prosecution and enforcement.
• Strong interest in intellectual property, corporate law, and contract law. 
• Strong practical and demonstrable understanding of domestic and cross-border corporate transactions.
• A self-starter mentality, ability to juggle multiple different tasks and projects at once, and desire to take ownership of issues.
• Comfort exercising sound judgment and making recommendations quickly.
• High attention to detail and well-developed time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• No sports background needed!
