Classification Research Project Senior Manager (f/m/x)

The role of Classification Research Project Senior Manager (f/m/x) reports into Director of the classification and is responsible to manage the classification research grants and other related initiatives. 

CLASSIFICATION RESEARCH PROJECT SENIOR MANAGER (F/M/X)

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) offers the newly created position of a full-time Classification Research Project Senior Manager (f/m/x) in an international and multicultural team at the IPC Headquarters in Bonn, Germany, starting in early 2025.

The IPC seeks to use the influential global position of the Paralympic Movement and the growing profile of Para athletes to challenge the stigma attached to disability and empower social transformation.

ROLE
The role of Classification Research Project Senior Manager (f/m/x) reports into Director of the classification and is responsible to manage the classification research grants and other related initiatives. The role is based on the project duration of four years, starting in early 2025 and ending with 31 December 2028, with a possibility of further extending the project.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the classification research grant programme in collaboration with relevant departments, external researchers, and stakeholders.
• Support Members in implementing the IPC Classification Code in respect to developing their classification systems through research.
• Manage activities and relationships to strengthen the classification research network and disseminate knowledge in the field.
• Support other multi-disciplinary initiatives to strengthen classification across the Movement (e.g., innovation, equipment and technology, medical, sport science).
• Support and manage other activities within the department.

CORE REQUIREMENTS
• Passion for the IPC's vision, mission and values.
• Advanced university degree (PhD preferred) in sport science, biomechanics, physiotherapy, kinesiology, low vision, psychology, adaptive activity, or a similar field.
• Detailed knowledge of IPC Classification Code and Para sports classification systems.
• Proven and effective experience in the management of research or other projects.
• Demonstrated ability for sound judgment, diplomacy and handling of confidential matters.
• Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, able to work independently and as part of a team.
