Full Description
The Role
We’re looking for a Community Tutor on a casual basis to support our Education and Employment team in delivering programmes that promote social action, educational development, and career inspiration for young people.
In this role, you’ll lead workshops focused on employability, digital skills, and personal, health, and social education, helping Arsenal in the Community make a positive impact locally.
Who we are
Your day-to-day
- Engaging programme delivery - you will plan and deliver a variety of high-quality classroom workshops to students ages 7-17 in a school setting
- Drive development -you’ll guide and feedback to students and their teachers, supporting them with how to develop and improve their skills
- Stay connected -you will liaise with our Community team, updating staff on student and cohort progress, including milestones and key achievements
- Coordinate and collaborate - you’ll have a proactive mindset to organise and set up meetings as appropriate, attending team meetings and providing updates where necessary
- Maintain compliance - you will adhere to all Arsenal in the Community policies including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and other legal and statutory frameworks, escalating matters as required
What we are looking for
- Proven experience of teaching -you have a strong background and experience in teaching young people in either a school setting or adult learning environment
- Expertise in education - you have a breadth of experience in delivering employability skills, customer service, digital skills or PHSE programmes, with experience in delivering education and skills funding agency or European social fun programmes desirable
- Hold relevant certifications - you’ll have valid, up to date certifications in an appropriate teaching qualification (PTLLS or equivalent is a minimum requirement), attend safeguarding training and have complete an enhanced DBS check
- Passion for teaching - you are committed to making a real difference to people's lives within the local community, supporting individuals to progress into employment opportunities
- Professional approach -you are a trusted individual to handle information discreetly and diplomatically with exceptional organisational skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach - you’re able to work flexibly across varied days and hours as and when required
