CAD Designer - Event Retail

Retail CAD Designer & Renderer who utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models and visualizations of retail spaces, such as store layouts, displays, and fixtures, with a strong focus on visual aesthetics and customer experience, ensuring designs are functional, visually appealing, and aligned with brand identity, often incorporating rendering techniques to present realistic representations of the final retail environment.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design Development:
  • Collaborate with retail design teams to translate concept sketches into accurate 3D CAD models of retail spaces, including store layouts, fixtures, signage, and lighting.
  • Create detailed 2D technical drawings and plans for construction and fabrication purposes.
  • Incorporate brand guidelines, merchandising strategies, and customer flow considerations into designs.
• Rendering and Visualization:
  • Produce high-quality 3D renderings using rendering software to visually communicate design concepts to stakeholders, including realistic lighting, textures, and materials.
  • Create virtual tours and interactive 3D models for client presentations and approvals.
  • Utilize advanced rendering techniques to showcase different design scenarios and potential product displays.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software like AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and 3ds Max.
  • Knowledge of materials and construction techniques relevant to retail environments.
  • Understanding of lighting design principles and integration into 3D models.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with retail designers, architects, project managers, and visual merchandisers to align designs with project goals.
  • Present design concepts and revisions clearly to clients and stakeholders through visual presentations and detailed documentation.
  • Incorporate feedback from multiple sources to refine designs and ensure project accuracy.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• 2 years of event / retail specific experience
• Proven software knowledge and ability
• Strong visual design sense and understanding of retail aesthetics
• Excellent technical skills in 3D modeling, rendering, and CAD software
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain design consistency
• Creative problem-solving abilities to address design challenges
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
