Assistant GBS Taxes

adidas Shared Services in Porto delivers high quality services for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Retail Accounting, eCommerce Accounting and other Finance processes as well as HR Services for adidas companies located in Europe and Americas.

Ensuring correct and daily execution of key responsibilities in the adidas Global Business Services Center according to the requirements of the company Accounting Manual for specific area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all Tax payments are properly and timely executed;
• Ensure postings on VAT accounts are properly executed;
• Execute Balance Sheet Reconciliation;

• Ensure/Report VAT positions and any meaningful variances to analyze and address to Corporate Tax;
• Perform Waste Tax for Netherland and Belgium;
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices;
• Identify the improvement opportunities and support their implementation;
• Support the team on ongoing projects for the implementation of technology solutions;
• Support requests from partner Finance departments and other teams within GBS center;
• Establish and maintain strong financial controls over the work performed.

Skills:

• Solid Accounting Knowledge
• Experience in SAP is an advantage
• Experience in VAT Compliance is an advantage

• Experience is Shared Service environment is an advantage
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a business setting
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and high degree of customer orientation
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Self-motivated and self-directed individual
• Availability to travel for periods of 1 to 3 weeks

Education:

• University degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or related areas
• Work experience in the accounting / tax area is a plus
