Full Description
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Contribute to achieve agreed standard of operational quality on customs process. Ensure a compliant, timely and accurate management of Customs process and documents in the Netherlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing development of Customs process, procedures, internal controls, and analytics that will contribute to the ongoing compliance management to ensure legal requirements with Customs authorities are met.
- Use appropriate and effective communication methods to stakeholders to support management of external Brokers and customs compliance activities.
- Support the Customs Manager with management of customs authorizations and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status.
- Suggest potential improvements to enhance efficiency and control of processes.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration and support with Europe Customs team members.
- Assist and support projects as defined by the Customs Manager in the Netherlands.
- Act as the first customs contact point for any customs topics related to imports in the Netherlands.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Practical knowledge of customs clearance operations and customs regulations
- Knowledge of supply chain operations is an advantage
- Proficient use of Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) essential
- Demonstrated business reasoning, analytical and critical thinking
- Ability to deal with urgent deadlines by properly planning and organizing customs related issues
- Good planning and organizational skills, and ability to work and deliver in dynamic environments while adhering to specified deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Enthusiastic and reliable, positive, self-motivated
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- A degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, logistics, supply chain, information system or operations
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a customs business/department
- Fluency in English, Written and Spoken
