Full Description

The Amateur FA is looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for recruiting, retaining and rewarding volunteers within the grassroots, adult game to join the team as a Volunteer Ambassador.

The successful candidate will drive the launch, delivery and education of resources and strategies aimed at building and enhancing the thriving volunteer network within Amateur FA football. We know that as the game continues to grow, we need more volunteers to support the game and that means recruiting more people but also retaining the excellent individuals who already give so much for the game. Additionally, the Volunteer Ambassador will support affiliated grassroots football clubs in ensuring that they have documented all their volunteers accurately on the Club Portal to help provide an accurate overarching view of the volunteer numbers contributing to football.

The FA's grassroots football strategy 2024-28: A Thriving Grassroots Game, has set out a goal to grow the number of grassroots volunteers and ensure that they feel valued and supported to fulfil their roles in the game. Our Volunteer Ambassador will provide clubs and off-field volunteers the learning and developmental support they need to effectively fulfil their roles.

The Volunteer Ambassador will work with Amateur FA clubs in London and the Home Counties on a casual contract. The role will be predominantly home-based but with a requirement to deliver some in-person sessions during the evenings and/or weekends.

JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION

The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Sunday 24th August 2025.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 3rd September 2025 at the Amateur FA office.

The Amateur Football Alliance is committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check through The FA DBS process. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and the information provided.
