Full Description

THE ROLE: Are you passionate about advertising technologies and excited to help drive innovation in the sports media industries? Genius Sports is a leader in connecting sports, brands, and agencies through cutting-edge, data-driven solutions. Join our dynamic Media Operations team at Genius Sports, where we help brands and publishers engage and monetize sports fans with highly personalized campaigns and content.
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Ad Operations Specialist to join our team. This is a mid-level role for a professional with a proven track record in the rapidly evolving and growing field of ad tech—a space that demands flexibility, precision, and strategic thinking. In this crucial role, you will own the technical lifecycle of our paid media campaigns, ensuring they are executed with 100% accuracy for operational success.

Who is this role for?
This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional ready to take the next step career within a global sports tech leader. You are someone who has moved beyond the basics and possesses a good understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem. If you take pride in the quality and precision of your work, enjoy navigating operational challenges, and are looking for a role where your professional experience will make a real impact, we want to hear from you. We value someone who can manage their own desk with confidence and act as a reliable point of contact for the wider business

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Campaign Trafficking & Setup: Implement and launch paid media campaigns across various media platforms (e.g., DSPs, Search or Social Platforms) and Ad Servers. This includes uploading creative assets, configuring targeting, and setting up content schedules.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for technical issues. Investigate and resolve common problems related to creative tags, tracking pixels, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Perform rigorous testing of ad creatives, campaign links and tracking pixels to ensure they are functioning correctly before launch, meeting all technical specifications.
  • Data & Reporting Support: Assist in compiling campaign performance data from different sources into comprehensive reports and dashboards for analysis.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain meticulous campaign documentation, ensure consistent naming conventions, and assist with data reconciliation and vendor communication.
  • Client Support: Assist clients with onboarding and providing personalized support. You'll be a key point of contact, helping them with questions and guiding them on how to best utilize our solutions.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in digital marketing and programmatic advertising, sharing insights with both clients and the internal team. This ensures we are always providing cutting-edge support

 WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Proactive Problem-Solving & Autonomy: The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership of challenges, with a drive to figure things out. This candidate can assess a situation, identify which issues they can solve on their own, and tackle them, while also knowing when to escalate more complex challenges to the team.
  • Detail-Oriented: An exceptional eye for detail is essential to prevent errors that can impact campaign performance and data integrity.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to methodically investigate issues, identify the root cause, and propose logical solutions.
  • Digital Marketing Experience: Professional background in the digital marketing space, with a clear understanding of programmatic, search, and social advertising metrics (CPM, CPC, ROAS, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Spreadsheets: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data manipulation, analysis, and organization.

IT WILL BE A BONUS IF YOU KNOW:

  • Professional Experience: 1+ year of hands-on experience in Ad Operations, Media Buying, Digital Marketing or a similar role.
  • Coursework or Experience: A degree or coursework in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Ad Platforms: Preferred background includes hands-on experience with the Google Marketing Platform (Gads, CM360, DV360, GTM, GA4), Social Networks’ Ads Manager (Meta, X, Snapchat, etc.), or major DSPs (The Trade Desk, Amazon, etc.).
  • Effective Communication: The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both internal teams and external clients, regardless of their level of technical knowledge.
  • Technical Aptitude: An open interest in and aptitude for learning new technologies and software platforms.

We enjoy an ‘office-first’ culture and maximize opportunities to collaborate, connect and learn together. Our hybrid working models differ depending on your role and location.
