Full Description
The Premier League Studio’s Finance department is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join the team and to play a key role in keeping our day-to-day financial operations running smoothly.
We are looking for a candidate with strong attention to detail and has experience in either Accounts Payable (AP) or Accounts Receivable (AR) and its related procedures.

Our hybrid-working model also allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home on some days each week. Where possible, you will attend the office in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.
- Working closely with the Financial Operations & Treasury Manager to deliver the AP function and taking ownership of purchase ledger processes and procedures including:
o Process supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding, approvals, and timely entry into the finance system
o Prepare weekly payment runs and support with payment queries
o Prepare supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
o Process employee expenses and administration of company credit card claims in line with associated policies
- Working closely with the Financial Operations & Treasury Manager to deliver the AR function and taking ownership of sales ledger processes and procedures including:
o Maintain customer records and process sales invoices and credit notes as required
o Monitor debtor balances, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain AR ledger ageing for month-end close
o Issue remittance advice and customer statements where required
- Preparation of periodic payment runs
- Perform daily cash postings and bank reconciliations
- Support with quarterly/annual data submission to Auditors/HMRC/ONS
- General accounts reconciliation and dealing with ad hoc tasks that arise
- Deal with general finance queries from around the business and suppliers
- Experience working within an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable function
- Bookkeeping or related field qualification preferred
- Proven ability to handle confidential information and exercise discretion
- Reliable, friendly and happy to work as part of a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong IT skills particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
- Well organised and able to prioritise effectively
- Able to work to deadlines
- Has a can-do attitude, inspires others through own positive attitudes, energy and passion
- Advanced attention to detail, proactive and methodical approach to task
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a good team player Knowledge of working with accounting software, Concur, Microsoft Dynamics GP and 365 Business Central

We have a wide variety of responsibilities. These include organising the competition and its Handbook as well as managing the centralised broadcast and commercial rights. The work we do in conjunction with the Clubs also goes far beyond the 90 minutes. We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.
