THE JOB / Account Trainee (College Football) (Home Improvement Client)

EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.

Our client, a well-known home improvement retailer, has long-standing ties with College GameDay and needs a passionate, self-starter to assist in bringing this best-in-class partnership to life each week. The Account Trainee will have the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in college football while getting a unique opportunity to learn on-site event management & activation, large scale event planning, and more.

As our Account Trainee, you will support the larger team both on-site and in-person in our Atlanta office. Events will take place on weekends and include working non-traditional hours.

The right candidate will be able to work as part of a cohesive team and will need to engage with internal Octagon divisions, client partners & vendors, and consumers. This position requires strong team dynamic skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Assist in administration and event operations of weekly on-site broadcasts, including coordinating weekly hospitality and activation elements, making travel arrangements, and coordinating on-site materials (shipping and tracking of promotional items, signage, collateral, etc.)
  • Communicate directly with property, vendors and school partners for weekly scheduling
  • Manage on-site staff, including 8-10 weekly student volunteers
  • Travel to broadcast locations regularly to assist in the activation and supervision of client’s on-site programming
  • Record and report program data including participant information, premium item distribution, hospitality elements, on-air assets, etc. for inclusion in weekly client-facing presentations
  • Gather information around travel, in-market information, on-site hospitality, and activation details to build into weekly distributed documents
  • Assist in day-to-day general office administration such as inventory management, managing incoming and outgoing mail/packages and shipments, etc.
  • Other related duties/projects as reasonably assigned

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 1+ year’s work or internship experience in the marketing or advertising industries
  • Capacity to become knowledgeable on our clients’ industry, brand and product offering
  • Detail-oriented; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality work within strict timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to solve problems effectively and independently
  • Superior organization, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software
  • Valid US driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: High (65%-85%)

This position pays minimum wage and is overtime-eligible.
