The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Accessibility Manager to join the Glasgow 2026 Accessibility & Sustainability team, supporting the delivery of inclusive and accessible experiences across Non-Competition Venues throughout the Games. Working closely with internal teams, partners and stakeholders, you’ll help ensure accessibility is designed into every stage of planning and operational delivery, contributing to a Games experience where everyone feels welcome and supported.
Operating across hotels, transport hubs, Live Sites, spectator plazas and wider city activation programmes, you’ll provide specialist accessibility guidance and practical operational support to help shape inclusive environments for athletes, workforce, spectators and visitors. Collaboration will sit at the heart of the role as you work alongside functional areas, delivery partners, contractors and lived-experience advisors to help ensure accessibility standards are embedded across Games operations and experiences.
Alongside supporting venue planning and operational readiness, you’ll contribute to accessibility reviews, spectator information, workforce awareness and Games-time operations across multiple locations. A strong focus will be placed on creating meaningful and lasting impact, helping Glasgow 2026 leave a positive accessibility legacy for the city and future Commonwealth Games hosts.
Job Summary
Joining Glasgow 2026 as Accessibility Manager offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the most inclusive Commonwealth Games ever staged. Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder management skills will be essential as you support accessibility planning and operational delivery across a wide range of Games environments and programmes.
Day-to-day responsibilities will involve working closely with disabled people’s organisations, operational teams, venue stakeholders and external partners to help ensure accessibility considerations are fully integrated into Games planning and delivery. Supporting accessibility assurance, reviewing operational plans and helping identify practical solutions to accessibility challenges will form an important part of the role within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Success in this role will come from building trusted relationships, remaining solutions-focused under pressure and bringing a proactive and inclusive mindset to every aspect of delivery. Experience within accessibility, major events, public realm, hospitality, cultural programmes or venue operations will help you thrive, alongside the ability to translate accessibility requirements into practical and meaningful operational outcomes. Most importantly, this role offers the opportunity to help create a welcoming, accessible and Altogether Brilliant Games experience for everyone visiting Glasgow 2026.
Key Skills and Experience
We’re looking for someone with practical experience working within an accessibility-focused role, ideally across major events, venues, festivals, hospitality or public-facing environments. Strong knowledge of UK accessibility legislation and inclusive design principles will be important, alongside experience engaging meaningfully with disabled people, disabled people’s organisations and lived-experience advisors to help shape inclusive solutions.
Confidence providing accessibility guidance across venues, transport, spectator environments and customer experiences will help you succeed in this role, alongside the ability to interpret complex accessibility requirements and communicate them clearly to operational teams, contractors and stakeholders. Experience supporting access audits, accessibility assurance or operational reviews across temporary or permanent environments would be highly beneficial.
Excellent communication and influencing skills will be essential, particularly when working across multiple functional areas and managing competing priorities within a fast-paced Games environment. A collaborative, adaptable and solutions-focused approach, combined with a strong commitment to inclusion, equity and respect, will help you make a lasting impact within the Glasgow 2026 team.

Salary: Starting salary is from £46,350. Salary offered will be based on demonstrated skills and experience related to this role.
