The International Olympic Committee is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. 

A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including the athletes, the National Olympic Committees, the International Federations, Organising Committees for the Olympic Games, the Worldwide Olympic Partners and Olympic broadcast partners. It also collaborates with public and private authorities including the United Nations and other international organisations. 

About the role:

As the A/P Accountant you will be managing accounts payable for selected IOC entities. Additionally, you will also be managing the processing and payment of vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

Your responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

  • Manage accounting of third-party accounts (Olympic Movement, suppliers, expense reports) as well as intercompany accounts for selected IOC entities or departments.
  • Align with General Ledger accountants on actions to be taken in relation with accounts payable.
  • Manage processing of vendor invoices including compliance check and timely booking in SAP.
  • Execute batch payments according to payment calendar taking into account payment terms.
  • Follow up with departments on approval of invoices and purchase orders if necessary.
  • Align with tax manager on VAT treatment.
  • Control and process employee expense claims ensuring compliance with travel policy; manage the approval and payment process.
  • Ensure proactive communication and support with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to monthly accounts closing and reconciliation; ensure respect of deadlines.
  • Prepare weekly reporting of aged payables, parked invoices and travel expenses; provide ad hoc reporting deemed necessary by the Head of Treasury and CFO.
  • Liaise with treasury team to provide visibility on cash flows.
  • Prepare & execute payment of IOC members indemnities and staff per diem in line with IOC policy.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to Accounts Payable processes.
  • Participate in IT projects and testing related to SAP technical upgrade and transformation.
  • Make sure controls are properly executed and reported.

Project Management

  • Manage special projects in line with needs and/or tasks entrusted by management.

Our requirements

  • University qualification or equivalent (bachelor’s, federal qualification, etc.).
  • English or French fluency, with excellent writing and speaking of the other language.
  • Excellent command of SAP and Concur.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel (incl. Excel formulas and functions as well as VBA macros) and Power BI.
  • Practical experience working in Accounts Payable of at least 3 years.
  • Good knowledge and experience of P2P process.
  • Practical experience of electronic payments platform, knowledge of Fides a plus.
  • Previous experience of Suppliers portal management a plus.
  • Excellent command of the corporate tools and compliance with the internal user rules (SharePoint, Office 365, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and data gathering skills.
