The World Archery Federation is the world body for archery recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The World Archery Federation sets Laws and Bylaws particularly for competitions for target archery, field archery, ski archery, run archery, flight archery and clout archery.
The World Archery Federation currently consists of 140 Member Associations (national federations and associations), that are the governing bodies for archery in each country. Groups of Member Associations form Continental Associations (Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania). The World Archery Federation is governed and managed by the Congress, Council and Committees. The day to day operations are carried out by the Office—currently 10 employees—located at the Maison du Sport International in Lausanne, Switzerland.
