The R&A governs the sport worldwide, outside of the United States and Mexico, and is organiser of The Open and AIG Women’s Open.
What we do
The R&A exists to open golf to the world. As custodians of the game, we unite golf and golfers through global rules and governance, inspire audiences by staging world-class championships – from professional events such as The Open and the AIG Women’s Open to leading amateur competitions including the Walker Cup and Curtis Cup - and lead the sport’s future growth in partnership with organisations worldwide.

LEAD: We have a responsibility to look to the future and ensure we leave golf in a better position than we found it. We are committed to taking the LEAD and working collaboratively with our partners in areas where we can add unique value and achieve systematic and scalable impact.
