We’re here to transform communities through tennis.

To do this, we’re focusing on three areas – making tennis welcoming, enjoyable, and inspiring to everyone. We’re proud to have been the governing body of tennis in Great Britain since 1888, and our goal is for more people to play and enjoy tennis.

We’re here because we are passionate about our sport, and we want to spread that passion across the nation. Looking to the future, we have an important role to play in ensuring the popularity and longevity of the sport – and to achieve that, we’re putting in place exciting and ambitious plans to create more opportunities for everyone to engage with tennis.

Our Vision

Our vision is ‘Tennis Opened Up’. These three words are at the heart of our work and shape everything we do. Tennis is an amazing sport. Anyone can play, whatever their motivation or ability, from all communities and backgrounds. At any age and for a whole lifetime, tennis provides physical, social, and mental rewards both on and off the court. We want tennis and these fantastic benefits it provides to be open to as many people as possible, across the whole of Britain.

Our Mission

Grow tennis by making it welcoming, enjoyable, and inspiring to everyone.
Our mission is to grow tennis by making it welcoming, enjoyable, and inspiring to everyone. We have the focus and determination that, coupled with the support of everyone in tennis, will really make a difference. Volunteers, coaches, officials, and tennis venues all play an essential role in the future of our sport; without them, tennis can’t exist. We’re committed to supporting them and working with a whole range of other organisations and individuals connected to our sport, so that together we can grow tennis and open it up to many more people.

Our Values

To ensure we drive forward together with the same beliefs and principles, we have five values that guide us towards our vision:

  • Teamwork
  • Passion
  • Integrity
  • Excellence
  • Inclusion
  • Culture

    Our Culture

The LTA, through its vision 'Tennis Opened Up', is committed to creating a diverse environment where all colleagues feel included and a strong sense of belonging.
We particularly welcome applications from people from ethnically diverse communities, deaf and disabled people, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people with lived experience of the UK's many and varied communities.

The LTA Tennis Foundation is a new tennis charity that partners with brilliant people and organisations to improve lives through tennis. It shares the LTA’s vision of ‘Tennis Opened Up’, and it wants to use our sport to make a real difference to people across the whole country. All LTA colleagues have the chance to get involved with the LTA TF, with some directly involved in delivering and leading its work.

To truly deliver our vision of 'Tennis Opened Up', we believe it is critical that the LTA plays our part in contributing to a healthier and more sustainable society. We want to grow tennis in Britain, but do so in a responsible way, protecting and supporting the environment and working with everyone in the sport to tackle our climate impacts. We are committed to ensuring a lasting future for tennis in Britain, and our Environmental Sustainability Plan sets out how we will do this.

Our core values at the LTA are teamwork, integrity, passion, excellence, and inclusion.
Whether working at the National Tennis Centre, Nottingham Tennis Centre, out in the regions at the grassroots of the game, or travelling around the world supporting our elite players, everyone has an incredibly important role in helping drive tennis for Britain forward.

    Learning and Development
